Financial advisors, especially those managing high net worth clients, need access to loads of data. Internally, UBS made the decision build software to support the hardware (ie mobile tablets) being purchased by their employees. Our challenge was to define and design a tool that made sense for mobile tablets.
It started by understanding the life of the financial advisor, what they accessed most frequently, and what they needed to be able to communicate to their customers most often. From this discovery session, we identified a top 10% feature list that allowed financial advisors to not only access financial reports and data related to their customers, but also gave them the tools to give quarterly reviews to their customers.
We often track customer reach and conversions to determine the success of a project, but in the case of an internal application that will never see the public eye, tracking reach and conversions is not possible. What we can say about this project is that the UBS team leaders responsible for the program were promoted within UBS. We believe that is an even better gauge of success.
